Occupational Safety and Health Center
Industrialization is an important pillar of the economic development of the country. For the continuation and development of industrialization, a gradual increase in production and productivity is absolutely necessary, and safe working and working conditions are a complimentary basis for production and productivity growth. In view of the need to develop safe work and protection of working conditions in industrial establishments as a complementary basic aspect of industrial business, His Majesty's Government established the "Occupational Safety and Health Project" in 2052 BS and as per the decision of the Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) dated 2075/03/32, this project has been approved as a permanent organization structure from Shravan 1, 2075 BS to remain as occupational safety and health center.
In order to run the objective programs of the center effectively, the basic infrastructures like the building, laboratory, library, training room, and training materials have been prepared and implemented. There is a library with a collection of books and training materials required for basic knowledge of occupational safety and health. There are three laboratories (chemical, health, and mechanical) with the basic equipment required for workplace monitoring and measurement. It has its own 33-room building in Lalitpur, Sambu, which has a well-equipped training room for conducting training programs.
